Friday June 10
Russian has 15-to-1 more artillery pieces than UA, and UA has almost exhausted all of their artillery ammunition.
🦉Pictured: Today’s post is kind of shitty; literally at one point, so we’ll start with a nice one: This owl was found in a forest near the city of Mykolaiv, southwest Ukraine, June 8th, 2022. The forest was on fire from Russian artillery shelling. Ukrainian firefighter services were putting out the fire and rescued the owl, bringing it to bird specialists from Mykolaiv zoo and got proper care for the owl. (Thanks JB)
🇺🇦 Remember 3 months ago when Russia nationalized foreign airplanes? Just letting you know that really happened. Russia really stole 700+ planes worth $10 billion.
🇺🇦 UA is losing 100-200 fighters per day. Russia is losing 250-300 fighters per day
🇺🇦 So many Russian soldiers have died in occupied Melitopol that RU converted a meat packing plant into a morgue. However, the plant is now full and they are frantically searching for industrial refrigerators
🎯 The war is now being decided by artillery and the outcome depends entirely on the artillery that the west gives Ukraine.
🎯 Russian troops possess 10 to 15 artillery pieces to every one Ukrainian artillery piece and that Ukrainian forces have almost completely exhausted their artillery ammunition.
🎯 Ukrainian officials are increasing the urgency of their requests for more-sophisticated Western-provided weapons systems amid reports of growing Russian artillery superiority.
🎯 Several Western media outlets reported in the last 48 hours that Ukrainian military and government officials are increasingly highlighting the fact that Ukrainian troops are trapped in an “artillery war” on critical frontlines and are at a distinct disadvantage in terms of artillery systems.
🎯 As UA uses the last of their stocks of Soviet-era weapon systems and munitions, they will require consistent Western support to transition to new supply chains of ammunition and key artillery systems.
🇺🇦 Russian forces are continuing ground assaults within Severodonetsk but have yet to secure full control of the city as of June 10.
🇺🇦 Russian forces are preparing to renew offensive operations toward Slovyansk and made minor gains to the north of the city.
🇺🇦 Russian troops reportedly took control of the Kinburn Spit in the northern Black Sea, which will allow them to exert further control of the Black Sea coast.
🇺🇦 Multiple low-fidelity sources are claiming that Putin suddenly ended a meeting due to needing urgent medical care. This is low fidelity information, but I saw it come up several times, so I thought I’d mention it.
🥴Gross warning…don’t-read warning…..this isn’t violent, it’s just gross….warning don’t read this bullet if you’re eating dinner….last warning…you’ve been warned……. Putin's urine and stool are allegedly collected by FSO officers on all his foreign trips and brought to Moscow in a special suitcase. According to journalists, that's how the Kremlin is trying to conceal information about Putin’s ailments. This is considered medium-quality information. Told you today’s post would get shitty
🇺🇦 Ukraine fears a long war will cause West to lose interest. This is a legitimate fear, and it is Putin’s one big chance at winning this war. Because Putin has no problem throwing even more lives at this problem until everyone else loses interest. I say that to say: If you’ve read this far, then you are part of the solution.
📢 Countries apply to be in NATO. NATO doesn’t seek to expand. Saying NATO is encroaching on Russia is Kremlin messaging. Russia has three primary propaganda efforts directed at the West, and that’s the first.
📢 Yes, Ukraine has a nazi problem, but it’s a very small percentage of the country, and not representative of the whole. Using a small group to smear the entire group is called “guilt by association.” Russia has three primary propaganda efforts directed at the West, and that’s the second.
📢 If you ever hear anyone say “What about America…” in an effort to redirect attention away from Ukraine and onto the west, that is called “Competitive victimhood” and the associated meme is *always* created by Russian-backed media. Russia has three primary propaganda efforts directed at the West, and that’s the third.
⚠️ Sorry about the typos or awkward sentences!!!! This is the inevitable result of putting out a finalized research product once every 24 hours, with no staff. If anyone feels like giving me staff, we can polish this b right up!
⚠️ I got lazy with my citations and I apologize. My top sources are: Current and former military planners, singularly-focused pundits, and all manner of vetted open-source intelligence. Top cited open source pundits and sources include: CP Scott, Institute for the Study of War, Kyiv Independent, Aaron Parnas, John Aravosis, Malcontent News, and mainstream news with high levels of journalistic integrity and track records. Sadly I can’t source private individuals, of course.
⚠️ Speaking of sources, thanks to all of you who have forwarded me tips or given me data from the front line. You’re the private individuals I wish I could source publicly
⚠️ Though my awesome employer taught me everything I know about OSINT, these posts are not affiliated with my employer, nor done during my employer’s time. Every item I report is from my own research, my own opinion, and written during my own time.
⚠️ Note: War happens fast and even high fidelity news needs a ton of corrections after the dust settles. Also, I’ve been spoiled by social media’s format where I can update the final product every time I find a typo. That poses a problem because…
