🇺🇦 Russia accidentally shot down it’s own Su-34 bomber over Luhanks. Pictured: Su-34 bomber.
🇺🇦 Zelensky to dismiss 28 officials from the Ukraine Security Service.
🇺🇦 The above announcement came after Zelensky dismissed SBU chief Ivan Bakanov along with Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova
🇺🇦 The above announcement is due to the high number of suspected high treason and collaborative activities of law enforcement employees.
🇺🇦 Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska arrived in Washington at the invitation of the U.S. First Lady Jill Biden.
🇺🇦 Ukraine's defense minister Oleksii Reznikov said he held a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin and received “very good news”. No word on what this good news is
🇺🇦 Since the last update, Ukraine’s Armed Forces hit 2 Russian military warehouses in Kherson Oblast.
🇺🇦 Russia has fired over 3,000 missiles at UA since Feb 24
🇺🇦 Chechnya’s leader says he’s just waiting for Putin’s order to “smash the west to smithereens.” Oh no
🇺🇦 Nikita Patrushev, Putin’s second in command, was allegedly rushed to the hospital after being poisoned
🇺🇦 There was an accident at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, and 9 Russian soldiers have been injured. Some died. This is NOT the same nuclear power plant that the Kremlin was inquiring about fallout
🇺🇦 Resistance news: Partisans blew up a car of occupiers in Severodonetsk, six wounded, four seriously
🇺🇦 Resistance news: Pamphlets went up offering a $50,000 bounty for a pro-Russian minister of education. Russia is replacing teachers with pro-Russian instructors. (Thanks JB)
🇺🇦 Resistance news: I don’t mention every pamphlet I see, but resistance fighters’ propaganda game is on-point. It’s traditional 1940’s propaganda and it’s not something you want to be reading on your daily stroll if you’re an occupier. Downright scary and often gruesome. They post them on local telephone poles etc
🇺🇦 Russia is apparently using maps from 1960s to invade Ukraine. Russia hasn’t updated their infrastructure since the 1970s and I think they assume the same for Ukraine
🇺🇦 It is clear Ukraine intends to take back Crimea. The move would happen after taking back eastern Ukraine. The intended path would be diplomacy supported by troop movement, rather than an all out assault
🇺🇦 Putin has shielded ethnic Russians from high levels of mobilization. Other Russian ethnicities are starting to take notice of this, which might lead to increased resistance, as ethnic enclaves realize they are being disproportionally bearing the burden of war.
🇺🇦 Putin’s effort to shield ethnic Russians from high levels of mobilization may trigger resistance in some of the ethnic enclaves that seem to be disproportionately bearing the burden of war.
🇺🇦 The Russian Ministry of Defense met with the leadership of the Eastern forces, which suggests that the Kremlin will not focus on seizing Slovyansk, but will instead prioritize seizing Siversk and Bakhmut.
🇺🇦 Russian authorities are continuing to integrate occupied areas into the Russian trade economy.
🇺🇦 Hey planners, did I get the picture of the Su-34 right this time????
📢 Countries apply to be in NATO. NATO is a defense alliance that has never, and does not, consider offensive operations. Saying NATO is encroaching on Russia is Kremlin messaging. Russia has three primary propaganda efforts directed at the West, and that’s the first.
📢 Yes, Ukraine has a nazi problem, but it’s a very small percentage of the country, and not representative of the whole. Using a small group to smear the entire group is called “guilt by association.” Russia has three primary propaganda efforts directed at the West, and that’s the second.
📢 If you ever hear anyone say “What about this thing America did…” in an effort to redirect attention away from Ukraine and onto the west, that is called “Competitive victimhood” and the associated meme is *always* created by Russian-backed media. Russia has three primary propaganda efforts directed at the West, and that’s the third.
⚠️ Sorry about the typos or awkward sentences!!!! This is the inevitable result of putting out a finalized research product once every 24 hours, with no staff. If anyone feels like giving me staff, we can polish this b right up!
⚠️ I got lazy with my citations and I apologize. My top sources are: Current and former military planners, singularly-focused pundits, and all manner of vetted open-source intelligence. Top cited open source pundits and sources include: CP Scott, Institute for the Study of War, Kyiv Independent, and mainstream news with high levels of journalistic integrity and track records. Sadly I can’t source private individuals, of course.
⚠️ Speaking of sources, thanks to all of you who have forwarded me tips or given me data from the front line. You’re the private individuals I wish I could source publicly
⚠️ Though my awesome employer taught me everything I know about OSINT, these posts are not affiliated with my employer, nor done during my employer’s time. Every item I report is from my own research, my own opinion, and written during my own time.
